Hello Coles Family,
I am extremely grateful and excited about the upcoming 2018-2019 school year! It gives me great pride and fulfillment to lead the charge at Edward Coles Language Academy my Alma Mater. This is why I want to ensure your child is afforded great opportunities for robust learning, cultural empowerment, and hands on activities that guarantee they are well equipped to seize their place within our global society. This year our facility has undergone some much needed improvements which are still ongoing, to create a conducive safe and nurturing environment for students.
This year our relentless pursuit of excellence continues! We have a well-seasoned staff, along with some highly qualified new faces with the same common vision that, “all students can learn”. Our staff has been involved, led initiatives, and made changes to policy and curriculum for the district this summer to be used to further enhance instruction right here at Coles Academy. With my shared leadership approach, it is not uncommon to see our staff members working in more than one capacity. The results of this is an abundance of communication with the goal of keeping your children safe, academically challenged, and socially aware.
I want to challenge each of you with the charge of being more active in the educational process of your child here at the school level. I understand and see the benefits of your efforts at the home level however, let’s imagine how much further ahead we can be with just a little more parental involvement and support. I encourage you to get involved by becoming more active in the Local School Council (LSC) and Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Let’s start another Parent Teacher Association (PTA) just like we had in the past! Come out and join us for the Back to School Night (Open House) on Thursday, September 20th, 2018.
Again, thank you for choosing Edward Coles as the institution to build a solid foundation for a lifetime. I hope to partner with each and every one of you this school year to make Coles Academy not just a place of learning but a place for establishing future leaders of the community and the world.
